The War of Prophesy

Ali's Diary Entry 160
A Romp in the Woods

Well every day with this crew has been full of surprises. I was greatful that we finally made it out from the underground city. It was a chance to relax and get back in touch with ourselves after everything that has happened. The traveling caravan had provided some good leads on the illegal trade and abuse of exoctic animals. Things were looking up. I had made some good contacts and thought I was finally going to link stuff together only to find that we became the creatures forced and traded.

It looks a little more like we are that we are outside, but that shouldn’t fool anyone. Raizen gets quirky anytime something different comes up. Cormick is obviously very unhappy with himself at the moment, and seems to be undergoing some kind of midlife crisis. Bree is normally just as normal as she can be, except for the part when she gets all agitated and defensive at the mention of our master.

To top this all off Telm came to pick up our battle tank from us. Apparently the battle tank was named Bertha. That was the only thing that made me smile that day. Telm is a horrid terrible “person”. I hate where this is taking us. I want to save the world, but dear god, I do not want to kill it in the process. I don’t know how long I can really be working in this capacity. He murdered an entire city for no legitimate reason, and..I am just so mad now I could scream…

At least we were able to go onto our next thing. There was a group of elves in Coronno called the “poison circle.” They were rumored to have an artifact piece in one of their little hideouts. We prepared for a very long time so we would be ready. I scried the place and Bree assisted us in teleporting there. We walked up to the front gate, basically strolled in and took the piece. I think the gods must have been smiling on us that day but I doubt that will last much longer.

Adventure in the Elan City

We came back to the Elan city after our harrowing adventure laid out before us by Boris one of city the leaders. We debated for a while if we really wanted to go straight back to town or if we wanted to look around while we still had the opportunity. We ultimately decided that it would be best to go back, but there could be no harm in sightseeing along the way.

As the four of us were walking back we did encounter some things that would have been out of place on the surface. The first thing we saw were vats of strange greenish grey liquid in large rows along the road. Our discussions with the local workers led us to believe that they were using these devices to create food for their people. These local workers were not what I would have expected to find down here. I figured a city of this size would be run by kobolds or goblins. These were goblins but instead of being green they were blue in color. Additionally they all seemed to have a more intelligent gleam in their eye, but were all a little snappy. It was like when you are in the middle of a wood, and you can feel the gnats around you, but you can’t see them, they just keep annoying you. Some of these blue goblins were guiding armored guard monsters that looked like beholders around the halls. (Presumably to keep some of the nastier creatures in the under-dark at bay). Raizen did seem interested in finding out more about them but was pretty much shrugged off by the guards. Bree also had an interest, but it was more in the workers themselves. It seemed as though many of the “workers” were actually engineers that kept the city running. She was able to get the University marked on his map and told us she would catch up with the three of us later after she checked it out.

While Bree went off to explore the University and the various archanist shops in the area, Cormick, Raizen and I decided it was time to go meet up with Boris. Once we finally made it to the office it was all rather anticlimactic. I was expecting a small payment for the help, or at least some information. Cormick tried to negotiate something for us, but was met with quite a bit of resistance. Our payment for completing the job was this..”You’re free to roam my city. MY city. While that sinks into your thick skulls, I’m going to ask you to leave. I’ve a good bit of work.” Remind me in the future to negotiate the price of our services ahead of time…our.. services? Well whatever.

Cormick and I had a chance to chat a little this afternoon, after we notified Boris of the success we had. Cormick is a very serious guy, and talented. I just hope in some way I can get him to lighten up a little. If we are going to be traveling together for a while it would be nice just to have someone I can chat with normally. Raizen seems to be calming down a little also. I think the stress of what happened to us probably got to him, he just doesn’t seem quite right all the time, and has some very bad mood swings. That is why it would be nice to get Cormick to open up a little, no matter what I say around Raizen it is never right, and that gets hard and frustrating after a while.

We agreed to split up for a little bit then and take advantage of our “freedom” in the city while we had it. I took the time to go visit one of the local blacksmiths. It was nice being back in a shop. I do miss my mom and my dad, and the smithy at least on the surface reminded me of home. While I was there I asked if I could have a little utility knife made. Bree has been putting so much in to keep us alive and to make this mission successful. I thought it might be nice to have someone thank her for a change.

After a little bit of running around we all finally met up. A little of the tension between Bree and Raizen has gone away but around each other they both seem just a little crazy. I guess I can’t complain to badly they didn’t even blink when I turned into a bear. We will start to work better together soon, or kill each other in the process. Bree really seemed to like her gift. It was a small gesture but I think it will get its use. And with that we called it a night, fining a place to sleep in the city. I can’t tell you how much I look forward to finally being able to sleep under the stars again.

Ali's Diary Entry 158

Ohh today was interesting. So the day before we had been attacked by beholders. Today we walk down the hall and like expected there are some bad guys. Bree was abducted for a short time. Raizen was actually willing to just walk away. Not cool, not cool at all. I pretty much told him that he was fine to go on, but I don’t abandon those that have been kind to me. It turned out to be something called a Temporal Filcher.

Luckily..or unluckily enough there was an Elan..that stepped in to help us. His name was Yuri. He..made me nervous…He looked a lot like Iosef. I just kept quiet, just not knowing what to say. The rest of the team let it leak that we knew Iosef. As soon as he knew what we knew, Yuri grew very quiet, and was simply determined to escort us to Boris his boss.

Long story short we met with Boris, and he told us some very disturbing things about the guy we are working for. I guess you can’t save the world if you only have good holy people.. It doesn’t make me feel good though. Our next job was to kill some aberrations that our “boss” had created. We fought this giant plant creature that had been mutated by the ooze, as well as insects. Ugh they got under my fur, and between my toes, and terrible…so glad it is dead.. If I find out he made much more I don’t know what I will do. Good things.. Cormic has a Pegasus named Hasselhof, pretty buff. and Bree our cute little gnome…SAVED MY LIFE. Here I was thinking I would be the one to save her..but it turned out to be the other way.

This has been a day of things being turned on its head, but still need to dig deeper to see what is going on.

Ali's Diary Entry 157

We followed Topspin the little cute gnome through his portal. It is weird sharing my brain with another worm, but I don’t know I am not as mad about it as I thought it would be. Maybe it is because at least it is more of a symbiotic relationship. When we went through the portal it was like we were in another world. There was nothing there, it was dark, there were no stars in the sky, no animals, and no sound. The ground wasn’t your traditional dirt but more of a glassy composition, like you see in areas where volcanoes had exploded years ago. But for some reason there was still life there, grass had managed to grow in that harsh dirt, and that was all there was.

We all walked at some time and eventually made it to a little house. Topspin was a little cranky and impatient. I wonder if it was more from us being annoying than the wait. Eventually the guy we were supposed to meet finally showed up. I guess name was Iosef and he was Elan, there was another very cute gnome with a top hat that joined him. I like where this is taking us.

They yammered on for a long time, blah blah, blah we have to call Master, Master now, not by his other name. So whatever that is a little annoying but I will live. I also got the chance to learn my worms name. Bob seems pretty decent so far. I think I have the best one. Cormick got Joseph, Rizen, has Sally and Bree our new gnome has John. Our worms now also give us special powers! We can talk to each other privately and we have two other personalities that can protect us.

Again people all talked some more and we finally we went down back down to escape. Cormick was nice enough to help lead us out. Bob helped me sneak past the Mind Flayers, and we were finally free. My pet had been hiding in the caverns and it was nice to be reunited with him. The two of us were finally able to actually fight and protect the other group. They actually were not afraid of my troll form, and things went really well. I got to shoot lightning and Buddy got to shoot his blood acid, when he was not hurling on the ground. Well will update more tomorrow!

Welcome to your Adventure Log!
A blog for your campaign

Every campaign gets an Adventure Log, a blog for your adventures!

While the wiki is great for organizing your campaign world, it’s not the best way to chronicle your adventures. For that purpose, you need a blog!

The Adventure Log will allow you to chronologically order the happenings of your campaign. It serves as the record of what has passed. After each gaming session, come to the Adventure Log and write up what happened. In time, it will grow into a great story!

Best of all, each Adventure Log post is also a wiki page! You can link back and forth with your wiki, characters, and so forth as you wish.

One final tip: Before you jump in and try to write up the entire history for your campaign, take a deep breath. Rather than spending days writing and getting exhausted, I would suggest writing a quick “Story So Far” with only a summary. Then, get back to gaming! Grow your Adventure Log over time, rather than all at once.
